Flocculant N-12 is a medium molecular weight acrylamide homopolymer with the following structure. This polymeric material, which is supplied as a white granular powder, can be used to precipitate suspended particles in water and wastewater from various industrial plants. The suitable molecular weight of this polymeric material (8 to 12 million g/mol), along with the negligible percentage of anionic groups, causes the adsorption of particles with different charges onto the polymer chains, resulting in the formation of heavy flocs that easily settle and rapidly precipitate suspended particles in water. The use of this flocculant is recommended for settling particles from wastewater containing various suspended solids with different ionic charges and compositions.
