The mixing of oil with water is a common issue in various industries such as steel manufacturing, metal rolling, oil and gas, petrochemical, steam power plants, shipping, oil and gas drilling, water and wastewater treatment plants, and others. This problem leads to significant environmental and economic losses due to production unit shutdowns. The most cost-effective method to separate oil from water surfaces is using oil collector devices, which are operated using special absorbent ropes.

These ropes remain afloat on the water’s surface due to their unique polymer structure. By moving across the water surface and coming into contact with the floating oil layer, they absorb only the oil into the spaces between their fibers and transfer it to the oil collection device. The pressure applied to the oil-soaked rope causes the oil to be easily and effectively released from the rope fibers. The empty rope can then be used repeatedly to absorb more oil as it moves across the water, effectively removing the oil layer from the surface.

Leveraging the technical knowledge of its research team, the company has produced these ropes on a large scale with superior quality and a significantly lower price than imported versions. The fibers used in these ropes have an oil-absorbing structure and coating that provides the highest oil absorption capacity. The ropes easily release the absorbed oil during compression and are ready for reuse. The reinforced layers of the rope are selected for their high resistance to mechanical forces, chemical degradation, and UV damage, making them suitable for use in all weather conditions.

The width of the oil-absorbent ropes is approximately 17 cm, and the weight per meter is 150-200 grams. The rope length is customized to the customer’s needs, with a standard offering of 50-meter lengths.
